Candied Bacon Pumpkin Bread

A Fall Favorite!

Candied Bacon

  • 6 Slices of Godshall’s Turkey Bacon
  • 1/2 Cup of Light Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup of Chopped Pecan Pieces
  • 1/2 Sticker Melted Butter

Pumpkin Bread

  • 1 Cup Pumpkin Puree
  • 1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 Cup of Light Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 1/4 Cups Flour
  • 3/4 Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons Pumpkin Pie Spice

Or

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Cloves
  • Pinch of Salt

Candied Bacon

  1. Dice and lightly brown six slices of Godshall’s Turkey Bacon — keep brown bits away from the pan.
  2. Paint with butter and sprinkle with brown sugar.
  3. Toast in oven at 350º until Brown Sugar Melts and Bubbles.
  4. Set aside.

Pumpkin Bread

  1. Combine wet and dry ingredients and whisk or beat for at least three minutes.
  2. Pour about half of the batter into a buttered and floured bread pan
  3. Scoop out an indentation in the center of the mixture.
  4. Pour your total Candied Bacon and Pecans into the indentation in the batter.
  5. Pour on remaining batter.
  6. Paint your loaf with butter.
  7. Bake in confection oven at 350º for around 45 to 55 minutes or until knife comes out of center clean.
