A Simple Bite-Sized Classic:
Turkey Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts
12 oz package of Godshall’s Turkey Bacon
2 8oz. Cans of Large Whole Water Chestnuts
1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
6 long bamboo skewers
Soak Bamboo skewers at least 2 hours but preferably overnight.
Preheat Oven to 350 degrees.
Combine Worcestershire Sauce and Brown Sugar and marinate Water Chestnuts for at least 30 minutes, rotating every 10 minutes.
Cut each slice of Godshall’s Turkey Bacon in half lengthwise (West to East) and then in half from North to South.
Wrap each Water Chestnut with one of the cut bacon strips and skewer, pushing the wrap down to three or four inches from the blunt end of the skewer.
Continue to load up skewers with small spacing (1/4 inch) between each wrapped Water Chestnut
Place in oven for 10 minutes, rotating at 5 minutes.
Switch oven to LOW Broil and put skewers an middle rack- check and turn every 5 minutes until bacon toasts at the edges.
Remove and serve on skewer with a Sweet and Sour or Remoulade sauce to dip.
