Bacon Skillet Cornbread

Hearty Side Dish

Ingredients:

  • 3 Tablespoons GODSHALL’S Smoky CRUMBLZ
  • 2 Cups Coarse Cornmeal
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • Half Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • Half Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • One Egg
  • 1 1/2 Cups Buttermilk
  • 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 Cup or 1 Stick of Unsalted Butter (Room Temperature)
  • 2 Tablespoons Chives (Fine Chopped)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400° F.
  2. Whisk cornmeal sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda into a large bowl.
  3. Then whisk in egg and buttermilk
  4. Add to the dry ingredients, bacon and chives. Then fold until well blended.
  5. Oil a skillet or round baking pan.
  6. Distribute the batter evenly into the pan or skillet and place in oven and bake until the center is golden brown and firm. (approx. 15 to 20 minutes)
  7. Top with butter and more bacon CRUMBLZ
  8. ENJOY!
