Bacon Skillet Cornbread
Hearty Side Dish
Ingredients:
- 3 Tablespoons GODSHALL’S Smoky CRUMBLZ
- 2 Cups Coarse Cornmeal
- 1 Tablespoon Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- Half Teaspoon Baking Powder
- Half Teaspoon Baking Soda
- One Egg
- 1 1/2 Cups Buttermilk
- 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
- 1/2 Cup or 1 Stick of Unsalted Butter (Room Temperature)
- 2 Tablespoons Chives (Fine Chopped)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400° F.
- Whisk cornmeal sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda into a large bowl.
- Then whisk in egg and buttermilk
- Add to the dry ingredients, bacon and chives. Then fold until well blended.
- Oil a skillet or round baking pan.
- Distribute the batter evenly into the pan or skillet and place in oven and bake until the center is golden brown and firm. (approx. 15 to 20 minutes)
- Top with butter and more bacon CRUMBLZ
