HOURS:

1st Shift - 6:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, plus Saturdays as needed.
2nd Shift - 3:30 p.m. - EOP around 1:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, plus Saturdays as needed.

PAY starting at $17.00 (1st Shift) - $18.00 (2nd Shift) per hour and ranges based on experience.

Processing

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Assemble and disassemble all machinery in their assigned area.
• Complete assigned duties related to injecting, stuffing, grinding and general processing of meat before it goes to the packaging department.
• Be trained on and follow all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and all SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards while working.
• Must have good time management skills.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Constantly stand, walk, twisting for a 9-10 hour shift.
• Continually push/pull/lift up 50 lbs., frequently if required.

Job Purpose

The Packaging Associate performs various tasks such as packaging, labeling, weighing and palletizing the finished product for transfer to the warehouse area for its distribution. Responsible for ensuring that the Packaging of finished products meets company goals and quality standards.

Packaging

Duties and Responsibilities

• Primary job duties and responsibilities include:
• Follows departmental SOP’s.
• Sort food items according to their type.
• Measure, weigh and count products and materials.
• Load materials and products into package processing equipment.
• Count and record food items before packing in boxes and/or cartons.
• Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
• Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools.
• Label packaged food items appropriately.
• Price packaged and processed items according to standard protocols.
• Monitor quality and quantity of food items before packaging.
• Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications required to perform the job successfully include:

• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Understanding of date code formats, label creation system and application of labels preferred

Working Conditions

• The packaging associate is required to work in an environment that is wet or damp and a temperature below 40 degrees.

Physical Requirements

• Required to stand or walk for long periods of time (8+ hour shifts).
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with rapid hand and eye coordination.
• Moderate hand/wrist flexions and gripping pressure (Repetitive Motion).
• Ability to flex/grip wrist/hands frequently.
• Ability to continually push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds frequently if required.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds above shoulder level, required.
