Job Summary

The Manufacturing IT Specialist supports daily IT and manufacturing system operations by responding to employee support requests, troubleshooting system issues, and maintaining shop floor technology. This role splits time between the production floor and office environment, supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems, ERP systems, hardware, and inventory processes. The ideal candidate is hands on, solution oriented, and comfortable working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Schedule

Monday through Friday plus Saturdays and mandatory overtime when needed.

2nd shift: Approximately 3 pm-11pm

Hours may vary. Hours are subject to change

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive and professional technical support to employees through remote desktop and in person assistance.
  • Support multiple internal users daily and prioritize requests to minimize production downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues within ERP and MES systems, including production, inventory, and labeling data.
  • Correct label errors and relabel product as needed to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Configure, set up, and maintain shop floor equipment including workstations, tablets, scanners, printers, and scales.
  • Perform basic hardware troubleshooting for computers, handheld scanners, printers, and related devices.
  • Train team members on proper use of the Manufacturing Execution System and related procedures.
  • Assist manufacturing teams with inventory troubleshooting and reconciliation.
  • Test MES system upgrades, patches, and functionality prior to and after deployment.
  • Work with vendors to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues and support system enhancements.
  • Provide data and reports to support manufacturing goals, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Respond to urgent system issues, including off hours support when required, to reduce downtime and correct errors.
  • Collaborate with IT, manufacturing, and leadership teams to improve system reliability and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer troubleshooting skills. A+ certification preferred.
  • Basic LAN and networking knowledge. Network+ certification preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with IT and manufacturing teams.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate data and identify system issues.
  • Previous manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Customer service experience strongly preferred.
  • Report writing experience a plus.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.

Education

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience required.

Working Conditions

  • Work environment includes office, warehouse, and production floor settings.
  • Exposure to cold and wet meat processing environments requiring appropriate protective clothing.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
