Systems Analyst

Godshalls Quality Meats, Inc is looking for a customer service focused Systems Analysist to join our growing company. This position involves identifying project requirements, developing data models, performing data analysis, writing basic SQL queries, designing and coding stored procedures and performance tuning existing database processes. Excellent customer service, communication, time management, conflict resolution, and problem determination and resolution skills are essential.

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to provide technical support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, previous customer service experience strongly desired.

  • Proven analytical problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Understanding of reporting from databases
  • Write and optimize SQL statements for data access and retention.
  • Visual Basic understanding preferred

· VBScript understanding preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support for the deployment of databases in development, test, pre-production, and production environments.
  • Support multiple clients each day
  • Administer changes and adjustments to systems, as needed
  • Test databases for performance, fine-tune when necessary.
  • Assess system performance and recommend improvements
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and backing up databases
  • Work with vendor representatives to identify and correct causes of database and software malfunctions and to perform enhancements
  • Respond to and resolve difficult inquiries and complaints
  • Provide emergency response to reduce down-time, correct errors, monitor vendor activity, diagnose database failures, and conduct off-hours scheduled and as-needed maintenance
  • Assist with MES (manufacturing software) implementation and ongoing support

Requirements:

  • Microsoft Access and Excel knowledge required
  • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures related to database management.
  • 0-2 + years of experience in software development using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2+ thru 2019, SQL language (queries, views, procedures), SQL Server database design, stored procedure design and implementation.
  • Proven analytical problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Preferred experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, etc.
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).
  • Visual Basic understanding preferred

· VBScript understanding preferred

· Basic IT Understanding and troubleshooting knowledge (Hardware, Networking, System Analysis)

· Sage ERP knowledge (Optional)
