Schedule: 2nd Shift, 2:30PM – 12:00 AM, Monday–Friday. Mandatory weekend work may be required. Hours can vary, and flexibility is expected to cover additional shifts when needed.
Job Purpose
We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team in the upkeep of our buildings, grounds, and production equipment. This role is key in ensuring our facility runs safely, efficiently, and reliably.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, train, and develop a team of maintenance technicians—fostering teamwork, open communication, and problem-solving.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to support company goals and drive continuous improvement.
- Build a proactive maintenance culture—analyze equipment, use MPulse to create and track preventive maintenance (PM) schedules.
- Supervise daily work assignments, inspect completed jobs for quality, and reassign resources as needed.
- Coordinate and perform repairs, installations, and maintenance for electrical, plumbing, mechanical, heating, cooling, ventilation, and boiler systems.
- Schedule and oversee outside contractors when needed.
- Maintain documentation for PM records, state inspection certifications (boilers, compressed air tanks, etc.), and 3rd party audits.
- Partner with other managers to ensure smooth operations across departments.
- Look for cost savings opportunities in parts, repairs, and machine efficiencies.
- Ensure equipment and facilities are safe and compliant with all standards.
What We’re Looking For
Must Have:
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to motivate and engage a team.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to document work using a CMMS or work order program.
- Experience with lock out/tag out (LOTO) safety procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, team-oriented, and open to feedback.
Preferred:
- Technical school degree or certificate.
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory and NFPA 70E safety practices.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial process controls, PLCs, hydraulics, and electromechanical systems.
- Ability to read schematics, machine manuals, and use troubleshooting guides.
- Previous experience in a food processing plant.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems like MPulse.
- Knowledge of HACCP, SOPs, and GMPs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across a wide variety of systems.
Working Conditions
- Cold and wet environment (below 40°F).
- Fast-paced production setting.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 lbs.
- Extensive walking and standing during shifts.
- Ability to reach, use hands/arms, identify colors, and use sense of smell to diagnose issues.
