Job Purpose

The Utility Associate's primary responsibility is to provide essential support and assistance across various departments such as Utility, Production, Purchasing, and other areas as required.  This role ensures smooth operations and timely delivery of materials and supplies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Primary job duties and responsibilities include:

UTILITY

  • Independently supply each department with required materials daily, responding promptly to requests via radio, email, or other communication channels.
  • Maintain accurate records of all material transfers in computer systems on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Ensure compliance with allergenic and organic storage requirements, adhering to SQF, HACCP, and USDA standards.
  • Conduct monthly SQF Foreign Material Checks, documenting findings and forwarding data to Quality Assurance (QA) for review.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse, arranging merchandise, supplies, and materials for easy access.
  • Unload and receive daily deliveries in the inventory management system.
  • Deliver requested supplies to the plant and ensure the inventory is moved accordingly in the inventory management system.
  • Print out daily PO slips to match deliveries, and understand what merchandise arrived to receive.
  • Properly identify and correctly handle all allergens and/or organic merchandise that meet or exceed SQF & HACCP conditions/codes.
  • Utilize both LOT number and FIFO systems for stocking dry goods and supplies.
  • Verify that all supplies possess QR codes as part of the standard operating procedure within the CAT2 system.
  • Engage in practices such as creating “sub-lots” to maintain precise inventory counts, ensuring accuracy within the system.
  • Conduct the scanning of all supplies to their designated locations, facilitating efficient inventory management within the CAT2 system.
  • Record ALL deliveries daily into SQF-approved receiving log and submit to FSQA for review.
  • Ensure all new printed materials are received into the On-Hold warehouse and that samples are provided to PLURP or NPRT for review prior to being removed from On-Hold.

PURCHASING

  • Make a daily list of all inventory and non-inventory items in shortages for re-order.
  • Perform cycle counts and ensure that the inventory management system is updated accordingly.
  • Supply other Godshall locations with in-house inventory via intercompany freight transfers, and at purchasers’ request.
  • Assist in coordinating employee intercompany purchases for supplies, boots, frocks, etc.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Assist other departments as needed by request.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job include:

  • Forklift experience required /forklift certification preferred
  • Computer skills required
  • Organized
  • Motivated, self-driven
  • Ability to work well alone, and with others
  • Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally
  • Be responsible and punctual

Working Conditions

The Utility Team Lead must be able to work indoors and outdoors in cold and hot temperatures.

Physical Requirements

  • Required to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Frequently uses repetitive hand motions
  • Frequently uses depth perception, and occasionally uses far vision
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with rapid hand/eye coordination
  • Frequently uses hearing perception
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Constant bending and twisting while operating a pallet jack and/or forklift, retrieving items from floor or lower shelf areas
  • Constant use of visual and hearing abilities required to perform essential job functions and constant climbing on and off pallet jack, forklift and/or high-reach
