Turkey Bacon Cheesesteaks

Ingredients

  • Baguette or soft Hoagie roll
  • 6 slices Godshall’s All Natural Uncured Turkey Bacon
  • Smoked Provolone cheese
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Melt butter over medium high heat. Add mushrooms and salt, and allow mushrooms to develop some color.
  3. Add garlic, red bell pepper slices, and onions to the pan and cook until onions have softened. Set aside.
  4. Cook Godshall’s All Natural Uncured Turkey Bacon to desired doneness, in the same pan.
  5. Meanwhile, split baguette or hoagie rolls and warm in oven for 6 minutes.
  6. Remove bread from the oven, and slather with mayonnaise.
  7. Add mushrooms, pepper, garlic, onions, cooked Godshall’s All Natural Uncured Turkey Bacon, and Provolone.
    • Optional step, for softer bread: wrap the sandwich in parchment paper, then in aluminum foil, and return to the oven for an additional 8 minutes. This will thoroughly melt the cheese and will help to steam the bread.
  8. After the cheese is melted, you may add other toppings you’d like, such as avocado, tomato, or fresh herbs.
