Turkey Bacon Jam

Turkey Bacon Jam
Yields: 1 Cup
Total Time: 30 Minutes

Ingredients

  • 12 oz package Godshall’s Turkey Bacon
  • 1 sweet onion, large – chopped
  • 4 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 bunch fresh thyme
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a skillet on medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp, about 6 to 8 minutes, flipping once half-way through. Transfer the bacon to a plate lined with a paper towel.
  2. Add the onion to the pan and cook on medium heat until it is soft and caramelized, about 8 to 10 minutes. If the pan is too dry, add a little olive oil first before adding the onions
  3. Chop the cooked bacon and add back to the pan, along with the brown sugar, water, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook while stirring until thickened, about 1 minute. Remove from heat
  4. Let cool about 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Spread over goat cheese, or other cheese spread on crackers or crostini, a grilled cheese sandwich or on a BLT or use as topping on salads. Also great on a charcuterie board
