Yields: 1 Cup
Total Time: 30 Minutes
Ingredients
- 12 oz package Godshall’s Turkey Bacon
- 1 sweet onion, large – chopped
- 4 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 bunch fresh thyme
- Olive oil
Instructions
- In a skillet on medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp, about 6 to 8 minutes, flipping once half-way through. Transfer the bacon to a plate lined with a paper towel.
- Add the onion to the pan and cook on medium heat until it is soft and caramelized, about 8 to 10 minutes. If the pan is too dry, add a little olive oil first before adding the onions
- Chop the cooked bacon and add back to the pan, along with the brown sugar, water, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook while stirring until thickened, about 1 minute. Remove from heat
- Let cool about 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Spread over goat cheese, or other cheese spread on crackers or crostini, a grilled cheese sandwich or on a BLT or use as topping on salads. Also great on a charcuterie board
